The high school student council along with several other student leaders, attended the Jostens Renaissance event at Central Michigan University. Students were inspired by speakers and were given many new ideas on how to make a positive impact on our school culture and community!
Huge shout out to our community leaders from both the Rotary and Optimist clubs for sponsoring our transportation to this awesome event!
Student Council is hosting a coin/cash drive for Toys for Tots starting today! We will be competing with the other District Buildings as well as competing among classes here at the high school! Winning HS class gets to choose a teacher to catch a pie in the face during a Holiday Assembly! Additionally, our student council along with student council students from the Elementary and Middle school buildings will be using the money collected to shop for gift with our local Marine Corps and then sharing their success in WZZM 13!
If you would like to contribute, either send your donations into the school or contact Melissa Baker (mbaker@shelby.k12.mi.us) and make arrangements for a donation pickup!

The WSESD and the Special Education Parent Advisory Committee sponsored its 8th annual "Make a Difference" Awards at WSCC on Friday night, June 2.
This special event recognizes the outstanding people, agencies, and businesses throughout Lake, Mason, and Oceana County that have significantly and positively impacted the education and success of students with special needs.
One of our special education teachers and a support staff member received awards and returned home with a well-deserved engraved plaque.
Congratulations to both Special Education Teacher Michelle Przekop and our District Special Education Coordinator Audrey Aebig!
